-Followed the instruciton on the XFree86 website
as follows
tar xvf xfree86xxx.tar -C /var/tmp/
cd /usr/X11R6/
chmod 755 /var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/preinst.sh
chmod 755 /var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/postinst.sh
chmod 755 /var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/extract
/var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/preinst.sh
/var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/extract /var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/*.tgz
/var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/postinst.sh
shutdown -r now
When it reboots I typed : -
man XFree86
It shows me I have hte default XFree86 that comes with Redhat 6.1
As a result I can't get it to probe the video card ATI Rage.
