Hello,
I need to begin picking a database fora project. The
number of choices is now staggering. Generally, I will have
about 15,000-20,000 patients and about 35,000 procedures
entered per year. I need to be able to run this over an
internet between three institutions [not necessarily
friendly to one another but my group provides services at
all three] and I am confused where to go on the Linux side.
My background in is FoxPro then FP for Windows and then
Visual FoxPro.
My choices are:
Oracle 8i with WebDB Probably overkill
Informix
Sybase
MySQL
PostGreSQL
I prefer a RDBMS with referential integrity, persistent
relationships etc. Suggestions on the best place to start
reading/experimenting appreciated. If there is a better
site to post this please let me know. I don't want to bog
this list down unnecessarily.
