Hello,
(Short version) I source-built the XFree86-3.3.6.src.rpm and installed.
However, certain libraries are lacking, causing various installs to fail. I've
used RPM and GnoRPM but have been unsuccessful in determining which packages
provide these files. Does anyone know which files to get out of this loop?
(Background) After "upgrading" to XFree86-3.3.6, I'm attempting to install a few
packages. For example, I'd like to install DDD (a nice GUI frontend to gdb):

libSM.so.6 is needed by ddd-3.1.6-1
libX11.so.6 is needed by ddd-3.1.6-1
libXaw.so.6 is needed by ddd-3.1.6-1

libXmu.so.6 is needed by ddd-3.1.6-1
libXp.so.6 is needed by ddd-3.1.6-1
libXt.so.6 is needed by ddd-3.1.6-1
Or Ethereal:

libX11.so.6 is needed by ethereal-0.8.1-1
libXext.so.6 is needed by ethereal-0.8.1-1
So, I hop over to update gtk+ which has these libraries with this result:

libXext.so.6 is needed by gtk+-1.2.3-2
libXi.so.6 is needed by gtk+-1.2.3-2
gtk+ >= 1.2.6 is needed by eucalyptus-0.1.6-1
gtk+ = 1.2.6 is needed by gtk+-devel-1.2.6-1
