I've successfully put multiple volumes on a backup tape, but I can't seem to get the mt command to advance to the second set once I've rewound the tape. I've tried mt -f /dev/st0 fsf 1 mt -f /dev/nst0 fsf 1 mt -f /dev/st0 fsr 1 mt -f /dev/nst0 fsr1 mt -f /dev/st0 fss 1 mt -f /dev/nst0 fss 1 In all cases the command prompt returns immediately and the tape is still at the beginning. Server specifics: RedHat 5.2 HP DAT40i (DDS-4) tape drive, SCSI mt-st-0.5-1 Have I missed something or does this command not work with all tape drives? -Eric Eric Sisler Library Computer Technician Westminster Public Library Westminster, CO, USA [EMAIL PROTECTED] Linux - don't fear the Penguin.
