I should have mentioned that I use everything from RPM and then build PHP
from source as a loadable module with apxs.  I was under the impression
that Apache-SSL was Apache with added SSL capabilities and therefore could
follow the same build procedures.

I'll try to build apache-ssl from SRPM and see what happens.  This should
be fun.
