This is not a problem; this is exactly what you have asked for: "sync".
If there happens to be something in need of "sync", then you hear the
harddisks "sync"ing....... it cannot be more logical, can it? :-)
The system does this sync about every 30 seconds; you do not need to run
the command yourself (unless of course you have some good reasons to do
so).
