I read this, it's "close" but solves the wrong problem. I do have upstream
servers available 99% of the time, it's just that whenever a little bit of
packet loss starts happening my system decides to go out of sync, and takes
10 or 15 mins to re-synchronize to its satisfaction. It's that outage (and
the related error messages on the client machines) that I want to deal with
by somehow preventing my server from ever announcing that it has gone out
of sync.
