I dont fully understand your approach; for me at least i would need an example with full details. Some time ago, I did try some lilo experiments with the "other=" stanza for linux but could never get these to work. So I am probably not the person you need to talk to 8-( The one firm suggestion I have for you is to go ahead and try it but do so first with the -t -v options. for lilo. The -v gives more verbose explanation and the -t is just a test mode, lilo doesnt actually rewrite anything, but tells you what it would do when you take out the -t. This way you can leave your current system intact and experiment with lilo using -t with as many variations as you want.
