i'm currently doing an article on this very topic. it seems that the
subject has been bantered back and forth among the interested parties and
now the gov't of china is saying that it never said this. what it does
seem is that they may 'encourage' the gov't to use domestic
softwares...but who knows. that's the biggest problem and the biggest
difference bewtween the Linux and Windows communities - the Linux
community always knows what is going on and the MS Windows community does
not.
there is certainly something to be said about knowing the truth.
