There's no plans that I've heard of for AdvFS, at least nothing that
Compaq has announced publicly. Why do you think the connection with
PolyCenter would help it being ported?
AFAIK, there are currently three "advanced" file systems in the works for
Linux:
ext3 - an iterative improvement over Linux's native ext2 being developed
by Stephen Tweedie at RH is in alpha.
reierfs - an brand new fs from Hans Reiser with many unique features is
currently in beta (I think)
xfs - IRIX's journalling filesystem from SGI which will soon be
open-sourced.
