*** Wouldn't a <Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace> work to drop to the console from where
you will be able to do something about your problem. Once you're on the
Console you just go to the dir where your XF86Config file (and not Xconfig
file) resides and you copy the original file back to its place... Don't
tell me you edited the original XF86Config file!?? In that case run
Xconfigurator, get a basic, working setup and once in X use XF86Setup.
And do me a favor, disable automatic boot into X: Go to /etc/inittab and
change
id:5:initdefault:
into
id:3:initdefault:
This will go to the console login, you login and you either do startx to
run XWindos or you use the console. If you're using KDE don't forget to
create a .xinitrc file in youre home dir with startkde in it.

*** In your case it should be mayday.
Cheers!
