HOW To Set Double Click Spped In X

I'm running stock RedHat Gnome and I've been looking for where to change
the double-click time while running X.  I tried changing the gpm
start-up with the -i parameter, but this apparently has no effect in
Gnome.  Couldn't find anything in MANs either.

Clue please.
