Hi,

I'm happily using RH6.1 on a few of my boxes. :-) But, it's all 386
stuff. :-( And I *do* run software that would take advantage of the last
percent of optimization from a 686 compilation.

I have understood that Mandrake is compiled for 686, right?

Has anybody done an installation of Mandrake 6.1 over RH6.1? If so, any
gotchas detected? Am I supposed to do a Mandrake installation as a 'New
installation' or as an 'Update'?

I guess I could ask over at the Mandrake lists, but I haven't subscribed
to any Mandrake list, since I'm not using it. And here I start to know
who gives good and reliable answers. :-)

I could of course recompile everything from the RH6.1 SRPMs to get it
686 optimized, but what a mess. I just don't find time for that.

Regards
Gustav
