Come on Robert, anyone in the Engineering field knows how important log
files are for trouble shooting. Can you turnup the debug level and show a
log file of the incident?

Hmmm, I have learned nothing happens in Linux randomly, *something* is
telling it to hangup.

Warning! Windows init strings are not always compatible. Some merely clear
the modem so windows can reset it the way it wants it. What are your init
strings?
BTW, your sceneario is rather common, it happens allot when the modem is
setting on the wrong IRQ.
