emacs...wierd behavior

Hi,
I have been using emacs for a while now...on my RH 6.0...all of a sudden now
when I start a new session of emacs, emacs starts all right but the fonts
appear totally wierd...it looks as if everything appears in reverse
video...why is that?? I swear I did not do anything..My .emacs file is also
not corrupted...
