Assuming you do NOT have a P(IBM?)166mhz (or a a busted Cyrix) ;-)
it runs pretty well.

(busted you ask? Yes. Cyrix P133+'s rated at 166 caused erroneous signal
11's. There was a software update to the compiler which fixed this, but
support for this patch has been subsequently dropped... we've verified the
problem on over 16 different P133+ machines... and it "ain't" the hardware,
as a processor replacement ALWAYS cures this...)


I've performed Mandrake 6.1 installs right on top of an existing Redhat 6.0
SMP P-300 machine and on a PII 450 without any problems whatsoever.

For all intents and purposes it -is- Redhat, with a few minor variations.

Be aware of one thing though.

There are a few RPM's which expect the "release" to read REDHAT... and
installation may fail with them.

I've "kludged" this by merely installing the RH 6.1 "release" RPM...
