I've tried it with a few different versions of the JDK, and Moneydance
loves to freeze, making me give up on it every time I give it another
chance.  The OSS world still lacks a good checkbook balancer.  Look for
the current options under Home/Personal - Finance at www.linuxapps.com.
FYI the only one that I can stand to use - and only after a few hacks - is
cbb.  The development of gnucash is proceeding ultra-slowly.  I think that
group may be holding out for a Linux version of Quicken.  Been trying to
hack gnofin on and off, and I'm making a little progress...
