I just went and did the upgrade for 5.2 to 6.1 yesterday, Thanksgivng, and
was disappointed with the quality of it. I had been very pleased with 5.2
and how it installed and worked out. Having found a book on KDE I had
installed it and was slowly working on learning it. But I was thinking that
some of the new features of KDE 1.1.2 and the newer Xfree would be nice. So
I bought 6.1 because it indicate that it had the latest versions and
proceded to do the upgrade.

Boot disk in, select text mode and upgrade. When it was done LILO had done
in System Commander and I had a bunch of Gnome and Enlightenment out there
and no where near the KDE applications I had before. I have been working my
way through the problems and have got things somewhat back to a working
level. Nowhere where I wanted to be though.

So what I am asking is did I do the upgrade wrong? Should I attempt to get
rid of Gnome and such and do the complete install on KDE? Or should I just
go back to install 5.2, restore my backups and try to get my money back from
COMPUSA? Thanks for your time.

                                                       John Fusek
