Hi all,

I've logged this with redhat support, but i'll post it here to see who
responds first :)

I've an Advansys ABP-5140/42 ISA SCSI card in a machine running rh6.1 and
when
i issue the command:

# modprobe advansys

The command hangs (can be suspended -- not killed though) and
/var/log/messages
contains this:

Nov 25 13:55:08 bean kernel: scsi0 : AdvanSys SCSI 3.2F: ISA PnP 16 CDB:
BIOS C800, IO 110/F, IRQ 11, DMA 6
Nov 25 13:55:08 bean kernel: scsi : 1 host.
Nov 25 13:55:14 bean kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0,
scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00

additionally, a cat of /proc/modules shows:

advansys 80640 (uninitialized)

and ideas, suggestions or witty/humorous comments are welcome...

warm regards,
