I'm cutting over and existing system to a new upstream provider. I've
upgraded from 4.2 to 6.0 with all eratta and updates. This meant a
conversion to bind 8 and to named.conf. My nameserver appears to be working
partially, since I can telnet from other machines to host names set up on
the DNS server and no where else. I am not on the net with this setup, that
is, it's just 3 machines and a hub while I set it up.

On this PC, the nameserver PC, when I run nslookup, I get the following
error:

*** Can't find server name for address 60.84.80.5: Non-existant host/domain
*** Default servers are not available

I can ping this PC by it's IP, it's hostname mls5, it's www address
www.gnl.net, it's full name mls5.gnl.net, and I can telnet to the same from
other machines on the network. There are no errors reported when I do
/etc/rc.d/init.d/named restart.

/etc/resolv.conf says:
domain gnl.net
search gnl.net
nameserver 60.84.80.5

Anyone know what's wrong?

Thanks very much for any suggestions/help. Direct replies would be
appreciated since I only get the digest of the maillist.

Thanks again,
Scott
