If you put an executable shell script in /etc/rc.d/ called rc.serial,
it will be executed when your system is starting up. it is called from
rc.sysinit around line 485. You can put your setserial stuff in it.
For your sound card, just run the sndconfig utility. It should pick it
up immediately. If it does not work straight off, check for irq conflics
and shuffle your PCI cards to shift your pci irq assignment. es137x cards
work mostly out of the box.
