I hope this is the right list for this question..::
For some reason(screwing up the firewall settings) I rebooted my machine and
as it rebooted it stoppped when it tried to start the xfs service...I hit a
Ctrl-D and it continued...I did a startx and it gave the error::
..nothing would budge it...I logged in..and then did a
Xconfigurator..which detected everything well..but in the last step just
when it s about to exit freezes..showing up the blue screen and staying
there..funny !!
BTW the error that xfs showed me was
"could not connect to server...fatal error blah blah..failed to set default
font path 'unix/:-1'
could not open default font 'fixed'
I then read some sites with the error I got
and commented teh line
# FontPath "unix/:-1" in the config file...
Now startx works but again on reboot xfs does not....
what is going on here..??? any help in understanding the above situation is
appreciated.
