i have one of these, and it's worked great in every os i've used it in.
i've been told that it's very heat sensitive, so keeping it in an external
enclosure might be a good thing. my system runs really hot, so i have it
outside just in case ( voodoo3, several internal hard disks, pII proc )
for tape, i've got an HP DDS3 scsi tape... i forget the model number. it's
a very good drive. 12 gig native / 24 gig compressed
