Hello I have a realy strange problem with the sendmail that comes with RedHat 6.1. I used to run 8.9.3 on 6.0 without this problem to occur. Usually, sendmail sends to syslog messages about sending and receiving messages. These messages are tagged with an ID (that is found in the sendmail queue as well). Normally, one expects to have pairs of such tagged lines, something like Nov 17 09:25:51 roadrunner sendmail[8568]: JAA08568: from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, size=1997, class=-30, pri=85997, nrcpts=1, msgid=<"lCdEm2.0.rC2.cWbCu"@lists.redhat.com>, bodytype=7BIT, proto=ESMTP, relay=IDENT:misa@localhost [127.0.0.1] Nov 17 09:25:51 roadrunner sendmail[8569]: JAA08568: to=<misa@localhost>, delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=local, stat=Sent Notice the same message ID JAA08568. Under this assumption, I wrote a script that tracks all the messages in the system, and prints something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] -> [EMAIL PROTECTED] This was true in sendmail 8.9.3 that comes with RedHat 6.0. In RedHat 6.1, this is no more true, that is I have tags that have no "from=". Did anyone notice this, and know what happened? Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce it constantly. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Note that syslog IS running, so it's not about losing messages, or someone breaking into the system and deleting the "from=" lines. TIA, Misa -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
