Hey, you know, the mass-market Linux PC vendors of the future might actually
have an easier time of things than MS tech support, if they ship their
machines with a "safe" user account, and bury the root password in the
documentation.  The knowledgeable user can find what he needs quickly in the
docs, and the novice won't break anything, since they won't read the manual
anyway.  =)

So ... ironically, Linux might actually be the more suitable OS for the
uninitiated.   Windows (barring NT) doesn't make it possible to protect the
user from him/herself; Linux certainly does, and breaks less often to begin
with.
