I'm trying to install Linux on a friend's computer. I bought
a new 17 GB hard drive, put it in my Linux box, then installed
my 10 GB drive in her box. The hard disk I had in my box is
brand new and worked beautifully. In her box, however, during
the install I get errors such as these:

hda: write_intr: status=0x71 { DriveReady DeviceFault
     SeekComplete Error }
hda: write_intr: error=0x10 { SectorIdNotFound },
     LBAsect=12337921, sector=12337921

-and-

hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveREady SeekComplete
     DataRequest Error }
hda: read_intr: error=0x10 { SectorIdNotFound },
     LBAsect=21096835, sector=99080

Any ideas? I'm installing Red Hat 6.1 onto an AMD K6-2 350
Mhz box. I'm using an IDE controller and hard drive. The
problem can't be the hard drive itself because it works in my
other Linux box (AMD K6-2 450 Mhz). If you need more info
about the box, I can try to provide it. Incidentally, everything
works fine when I install Windows 98. The problem must be
Linux-related.

Any help would be appreciated. I've been wrestling with this
for 4 days straight now and I'm at the end of my rope.

Thanks in advance,
