I use NAS, which is the audio equivalent to X Windows. Remote hosts
can then not only display on your screen, but can make sounds from
your speaker.
It used to be used by NCD for their audio capable X-Terminals.
The application libraries can read a wide variety of audio file
formats, including wav.
The source seems to have been hacked from the original XLib code,
and the documentation leaves something to be desired, but I havn't
found a good alternative yet.
