Dear List:

I have two hard drives. The first is divided into two NT partitions. The
second drive also has two partitions. The first partition is NT the second
is for Linux. I recently installed Mandrake 6.0 during this install I chose
to place LILO in the mbr. I was able to dual boot both NT and Mandrake with
no problems. I decided to remove Mandrake and install RedHat 6.1. During the
RedHat install, I was unable to add the NT partitions to LILO. I did not
know what to do. So I removed the RedHat partitions and fdisked the mbr.
Hoping that this would make RedHat see the NT partitions as bootable. This
had not been a problem before now.

I have discovered I can configure LILO after installation to dual-boot, but
am curious why I cannot do this during install. Could the Mandrake install
have made some modification to the NT partitions which makes subsequent
installs unsuccessful?

Thanks,
Brian Ivey
