hi. i've been trying for like a week now to get this damned pppoe stuff to
work and my kernel keeps blowing up. i'm trying to go the 2.3.18
kernel-space way. when my kernel boots, it gets past the part where its
freeing memory up and then i get this:
kmod: failed exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-0000, errno = 2
kmod: failed exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-0000, errno = 2
kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init= option to kernel
what did i do wrong when building this kernel? then i use the one already
installed (2.2.15-5 i think) it boots just dandy -- so its definatly not a
system thing (else logic dictates that it wouldnt work also).
heres the steps i have been using (please feel free to point out the
errors.. :))
make clean
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
copy bzImage into /boot
copy System.map into /boot
mkinitrd the new .img file
rerun lilo
thanks
