I have an Adaptec 1542CF SCSI controler in a Pentium II system that uses the 440LX chipset. I am able to use Adaptec's utilities to do a low level format on the disk drive and to run a diagnosis on the drive, the RH boot disk is having problems. I tell the boot program that I have an Adaptec 1542 card and to do a "autoprobe." However, the install process seems to hang here. I think it can't find any SCSI devices. I have version 2.02 of the BIOS on the 1542CF card and I plan to load the latest BIOS and test again. I recently had problems with another SCSI controler that had conflicts with the 440LX chipset on my motherboard. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I searched the RH website, but didn't see anything that may help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW, I have the SCSI disk set to SCSI ID 0. -- | Bryan Swann ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) 803/566-0086 803/554-0015 (Fax) | Eagan McAllister Associates, Inc. | | "Everything must be working perfectly, cause I don't smell any smoke" -- PLEASE read the Red Hat FAQ, Tips, Errata and the MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-FAQ /RedHat-Errata /RedHat-Tips /mailing-lists To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
