We have here a LAN of Win95 and Linux computers connected to the
internet via a Linux server.
Now i can use samba to mount a win95 box as long as the windoze is
set on share-level access. The problem is that all the windoze boxes here
are set on user-level access, taking the users and the passwords from a
Netware 3.10 server on this LAN.
For instance i have the 95 box with the name s08 defined in
/etc/hosts. When this windoze is set on share-level access and i run
smbclient -L s08 it works just fine: tells me the shares available and i
can use smbmount to mount them.
But when i set the windoze on user-level access (using the netware
server) and i run smbclient -L s08, this happens :
Added interface ip=193.226.103.244 bcast=193.226.103.255
nmask=255.255.255.0
Session request failed (131,130) with myname=LSPVS destname=S08
Called name not present
Try to connect to another name (instead of S08)
You may find the -I option useful for this
Using -U username, makes no differenece.
Question: can samba be used for such a windoze set on user-level
access ?
