As I am almost ready to regress back to the somewhat
stable 4.2 dist., I am going to make one final effort to get
jdk installed. I have given up on the other troublesome

Okay.

I have a cherry install of RH 5.0.

I upgraded glibc to the latest on the RH site.
After removing the texinfo package I upgraded the glibc-devel
package.

Now I installed the jdk, set all the env variables correctly, (as a machine
with the jdk working on it correctly for a reference) and I get an error
when executing the compiler.

kaffe: command not found.

My search for kaffe yielded two directories, /usr/include/kaffe and
/usr/share/kaffe

Also, is there one almighty document that can tell me what I need to do to
get a RH5.0
install up to par with the updates. I mean, sheesh, the update directory
looks like a completely
new distribution.

Thanks,
Chuck
