Preparing to send an email in pine just now I managed to crash linux! some sort
of a record I think. I'm not sure how I did it; I started to type in the
recipient's name in the To: field but my finger slipped. All the keys locked
up. I went to another terminal but I couldn't kill pine even with kill -9. I
tried to reboot but got the dreaded "shutdown already running". I tried to
change to single user but the whole system froze and in the end I had to press
the reset button :-(. Very rum. I don't feel like trying to do it again but I
wonder how it happened.
