Hello, all!
I have a zombie process which is causing problems on my system right now.
Normally, I'd just ignore them but this is a zombie from a route request run
by sendmail.
I have a dial-up network and the server was not functioning correctly when I
tried to connect. I could connect, but got no response from the nameserver.
Anyway, the request-route process became zombiefied and that hung the sendmail
process. Now no mail can be sent on the system.
I've tried stopping and restarting the sendmail process, but that didn't
effect the process which was started and hung.
I'm sure I could just reboot, but I don't like that solution. Anyone else
have any suggestions?
-Michael
