Linux, unlike other os's like win95, uses the extra memory you have to
help speed things up (ie caching the hard drive and such). If you do a
"free" and look at the total -/+ caching you will see how much memory is
really in use (I'm only using 9mb and running a webserver, email server,
ftp, smb, lpd, a pretty big kernel, nfs, telnetd, etc).
