I view all of these things (People for Science in the Public Interest,
Common Cause, NARAL, Christian Coalition, many, many more) as a group of
people working to enrich themselves by trying to get others to give to
their 'cause' to 'fix' some injustice or another. Most of anything donated
to them will go to pay salaries and buy new cars and houses. Historically,
$0.17 manages to make it to the 'moral purpose' which they espouse.
Sure, M$ may have given them some money. They can write it off. If they
really want support, they'll ask the big corporations to help the fight on
the basis that they'll be next once M$ is taken down (ala the cigarette
companies). That's where their real muscle would have to come from.
If I supported M$ (which I don't), I still wouldn't give these clowns a
dime. M$ is capable of taking care of themselves (i.e. buying off the right
politicians). These guys should be told to get a job.
