Hi,
After installing RH5.0 and making a few upgrades (those
advised for X11, glib*, and a few others), I tryed to run
a session with xdm turned to mode 5. Things improved since
my firts message, and I am able to enter a session and logout
without problems...the majority of times. It happens that
sometimes, when the session ends, xdm is not able to reset
the session and offer the login widget,. The results remains
the same : my machine gets completely freezed with a black
screen, no messages and even a ctrl-alt-del has no visible effetcs.
Therefore, I must turn off and turn on the machine. With xdm turned
to mode 3, a ns running startx, I don't have this starnge problem.
I saw someone has experienced a similar problem. Are there solutions
to this ?

Any help would be very welcome !!!!

cheers,

Domingos Barbosa
