Hello! I currently am running Line on two of three machines in my household. My LapTop is straight Linux, my Tower CPU is a duel Linux/Win95. Two days ago, a friend of mine gave me a computer he doesn't use anymore. I took it and decided to use it as a server or something... So I proceeded to wipe the HD and all. Next, I insert the BootUp Floppy and proceed to do a normal install. It gets to a point, and then stops. It is a Packard Bell Multimedia computer. 486, with 32 megs of ram. Here is the boot up list (last 11 lines) Ramdisk driver initialized : 16 ramdisks of 4096k size Had: Conner Peripherals 170MB - CP30174E, 162MB w/32kB Cache, CHS=903/8/46 Ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 (just so you can read 0X1F0-0X1F7,0X3F6) on irq 14 Floppy drive(s) fd0 is 1.44M FDC 0 is an 8272A Md driver 0.35 MAX_MD_DEV=4, MAX_REAL=8 Scsi : 0 hosts. Scsi : detected total. Partition check: Hd a: hda1 RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0 Then it just stops right there. Can somebody give me an idea on how to fix this?
