So two windows machines cannot access the same Linux samba share as guest,
without a password, your saying?

Hmm.. 

You should be able to:

- set the service to be 'public'
- use the 'null passwords' option
- use the 'guest only' option

You should at least spend some time, and use ipfwadm to configure your
upstream connection to be restrictive about who you permit access to.
