do a
kill -9 <pid>
on it (without the <>'s around the pid) and that'll kill it with the trusty ole'
"teflon bullet" as my IPC professor would say =). if that 1 was it's process ID then
don't touch it.. that's init.. and you no wanna kill that guy.
