I have a database that is reaching 160gb so it is getting too large for the tape drives we have which have 150gb capacity. Network Appliance is starting to use an array of cheap IDE drives to do their Snap Backup. It just seems that with hot swap drives that have larger capacities, tape is becoming obsolete. Just something else to think about. Ed Croft, RHCE BTW, we use the Exabyte Mammoth 2 drives. One 30 tape/2drive robot and one 7tape/1drive and one stand alone. We currently use Quick Restore for the backup, but they appear to have disappeared. From what I heard they got bought out by Oracle and I can't find their product anymore. When I used to work on SCO we used LoneTar with AirBag. They were supposedly working on a Linux version, but I have not heard that they had it yet.
