Noah, have you given thought to a USB drive? I have a database that is
reaching 160gb so it is getting too large for the tape drives we have
which have 150gb capacity. Network Appliance is starting to use an array
of cheap IDE drives to do their Snap Backup. It just seems that with hot
swap drives that have larger capacities, tape is becoming obsolete. Just
something else to think about.

BTW, we use the Exabyte Mammoth 2 drives. One 30 tape/2drive robot and
one 7tape/1drive and one stand alone. We currently use Quick Restore for
the backup, but they appear to have disappeared. From what I heard they
got bought out by Oracle and I can't find their product anymore. When I
used to work on SCO we used LoneTar with AirBag. They were supposedly
working on a Linux version, but I have not heard that they had it yet.
