Hi, did someone tried apcupsd ? I've got a APC Back-ups 500 with usb cable 940-0127B linked to a pc with RedHat 8.0A installed I've tested everything it was written on the documentation, man pages and mailing list, but I couldn't figure out the problem The system finds the ups: #cat /proc/bus/usb/devices S: Manufacturer=American Power Conversion S: Product=Back-UPS 500 FW: 6.4.I USB FW: c1 S: SerialNumber=BB0307324835 C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=a0 MxPwr= 30mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=03(HID ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hid E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=10ms T: Bus=01 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#= 1 Spd=12 MxCh= 3 B: Alloc= 0/900 us ( 0%), #Int= 0, #Iso= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=0000 ProdID=0000 Rev= 0.00 in /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf I set: UPSCABLE usb UPSTYPE usb DEVICE /dev/usb/hiddev[0-15] And then the default values When I start the daemon: apcupsd start, I've got the following error Driver usb not found. The available drivers are: dumb apcsmart apcupsd FATAL ERROR in apcupsd.c at line 312 Apcupsd cannot continue without a valid driver. I tried to change the ups type and the device in the apcupsd.conf, but the problem still remain. I've tested with the rpm and then with the last tgz compiling everything with the usb directives, but nothing to do. Someone had the same problem?
