Hi all, We have a problem here... We want to show a message to the user (kind of motd) that is sitted at the machine (do not turn off or any other advice) but we don't want to show the same message to the user that logged at the machine through network. I've tried to see tty, but with the X server (we use KDE here) it shows me a remote terminal (ptsX) even if it is local. I've tried to put 'tty > file' at .login but when I log in at KDE it said that's not a tty. The owner of /dev/console also isn't showing the current user. The content of /dev/lastlog neither records all the users that logged locally. Do you have any other ideas to get this piece of information or some tip to configure anything to show us who logged local or remotely ?? Thanks in advance, Tiago.
