Ron, it sounds like the problem is with Partition Magic and Windows. You may have to reinstall windows. This is not a grub or linux problem. Some useful information to include in your post would be the contents of your grub.conf and fstab/or the output of df.
Make sure you have a linux bootdisk before you re-install windows as windows will overwrite the MBR and you will lose grub. After windows is up, boot to linux with your boot disk and run grub from the command line. You'll have to do this as root.
