I have looked at these drivers, but I am not using the onboard network or sound. And actually, the drivers on their site are old.

I am running rh73 and have tried all sorts of kernels in the 2.4.20 and 2.4.21 variety. I have not tried turning acpi off nor have I patched the kernel patch to get agpgart working. Maybe I'm answering my own question: I am using the agp nvidia fx500 with heavy 3d applications.
