I've installed Oracle 9i under RedHat 9 just fine. There were a few minor things needed to make it work however it was really easy. I've also setup Oracle 8 under Linux 7.2/7.3. Took a bit more work to build a stable database.
Unless there is a good reason for Oracle 8 I would recommend upgrading to 9. Oh and the docs I used were found here: http://codah.net/install-oracle9iR2-on-redhat9.html First time I installed them I came across a few interesting errors but was able to resolve with some help from otn.oracle.com Good Luck --- BTW, you can also download any of Oracle's products for Linux on this site (i.e. if you want Oracle 9X for Linux, you can get it from them (as long as you don't use it for commercial purposes)). -- Linux: Telling Microsoft where to go since 1991 -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
