It could be that you have the incorrect version of the plugin for the
browser that you are using.

I'm using mozilla 1.2.1 and I have in my ~/.mozilla/plugins directory a
link of libjavaplugin_oji.so ->
/usr/java/j2re1.4.2/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so

note the "ns610" v.s. "ns600" in your link.  I believe the ns600 path is
for older versions of mozilla.

Your configuration may be different as I downloaded and installed the
latest java from sun.
