Just out of curiosity, have you tried actually -playing- those files? Are they even still valid and not corrupted?

I just played two of my 1GB songs (Kansas, to keep the example consistent) and they sound OK; can't speak for the other 1800 files yet, but at a guess they're probably OK. I'd hate to have to re-rip the WAV's from all 200 albums...
