<rant> I don't recall asking anybody to _do_it_for_me_. What I asked for was documentation. I said I was a novice at acpi as it applies to linux, but I assure you, I'm NOT a novice with computers. I have 25 years experience in every level of this industry, and have been working some with linux for the last couple of years.
I believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY that Linux is a superior operating system, and use it exclusively in my home network. I have not, however, gotten acpi working on my Dell laptop, and that is one of the things I'd like to get working. However, when asking a question about the location of documentation elicits an elitist response from RHCE's, it reminds me that we sadly have a little ways to go yet. If the goal of the linux community is to only cater to the geeks, then we are already there.
