Mark,

You must be very bored ;o)  luckily i am too this morning...

The wallpaper selection is held in each users .kde directory,
in the file:

~/.kde/share/config/kdesktoprc

You'll see a wallpaper setting.  After changing it, the
kdesktop process has to be killed and restarted for the 
change to take effect.
